The sport is all about fitting gems in direct lines of 3 or more. Match some stone and they’ll turn into troops. These troops will then march up the display and hit any critters that they come in contact with.
That’s an important point to consider though. If you match a group of stone on a single side of the display, they are not likely to ramble over to another. Troops constantly walk straight up from where they are matched.
That does not mean that fitting gems that are not likely to score you a hit is a waste of time however. Match some green gems, as an example, and they’ll add some mana to any green character that you have got in your army.
Various monsters also have different colours. You may use this to figure out what you have to be hitting them with. Pay attention to the wheel in the upper left corner of the display to find out which color stones are most powerful against which color characters.
Sometimes you’e not likely to be able to move the board around to utilize the most effective colours, but bear in mind that it’s always better to utilize any color instead of the one that is weakest against the opponent that you’re fighting.
It’s ideal to have mixed a group of characters as possible, because that’s likely to put you in good stead whatever you come up against. However, it is possible to see exactly what you’re likely to be battling before you embark on a level, so if you’ve got lots of strong characters it is possible to tailor your army.
